Cumulus President’s Message April 2021

My institution, Parsons School of Design at The New School, will end our spring semester in about 2 weeks. Like in many parts of the Global North where many of our 340+ Cumulus members are based, this will be the conclusion of a full academic year that our students and faculty have experienced teaching and learning online.

The Sustainability Science Days is a two-day conference organised jointly by Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science and Aalto Sustainability. The conference will concentrate on radical changes that are indispensable for creative solutions to the present sustainability crisis.

Why do type designers traditionally think in black and white? The world is colorful, the web is colorful, Hollywood does not produce any black-and-white movies anymore… Only type designers continue to think in these restrictive terms. Why?

The Elisava Scholarships recognize, reward and disseminate the talent and excellence of our future Master’s students. This call for scholarships, awarded together with Gràffica, Neo2, Experimenta, Diariodesign and COM Elisava, takes place during the month of March of each year.
