Opened on November 2, 2011, the Cumulus Lab at Tongji is the first of a network of physical open spaces and it will encourage Cumulus members to discuss and exchange regional specificities and develop regional programs within a worldwide context.

NASAD the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, USA and Cumulus established a formal basis of cooperation on 10 October 2010.

In the memory of 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake Disaster, Cumulus Association together with Tongji University and Knowledge and Innovation Community jointly organize “Design Inspiring Humanism – 2009 Cumulus International Design Competition for the Earthquake Disaster Relief”.

Students from Umea Institute of Design, Sweden, ENSCI, Les Ateliers, France and Hongik University, Korea are the first winners of Cumulus Green.

Mike White from RMIT, Australia wins with the Landscape Urbanism project.
