ELO Film School Helsinki hosts a conference on Virtual Reality entitled #Lights, Camera, Interaction! on May 30 – June, 1^st at the Media Centre Lume. The event is part of yearly conferences of the European Grouping of Film and Television Schools GEECT. The aim is to rethink visual aesthetics and cinematic conventions in relation to the current Virtual Reality (VR) technology. VR brings major changes to conventional production workflows and challenges tools for guiding viewers attention. It frees the content from the constraints of the cinematic frame, allowing viewers to experience a movie that fully surrounds them. The program includes lectures, case studies and hands-on exercises. More than 80 film schools from 32 countries are members of GEECT which again in a regional association of CILECT (The International Association of Film and Television Schools / Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles de Cinéma et de Télévision) established in 1955 in Cannes.
