The School of Visual Arts offers a new programme that stresses the relation of art and thought, more specifically of art-provoking thought and thought-provoking art.
The School of Visual Arts of the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) has a new director, Jalal Toufic, and, consequently, a new program<http://alba.edu.lb/french/editorial-arts-visuels> that stresses the relation of art and thought, more specifically of art-provoking thought and thought-provoking art. The languages of instruction are English and French. New faculty members include Ali Cherri, Ghassan Salhab, Tamara Al-Samerraei, and Hassan Zahreddine. This year’s visiting artists’ workshops will be given by Akram Zaatari, Samir Sayegh, and Rania Stephan, among others. The year-long seminar taught by Jalal Toufic, “Art-Provoking Thought,” is open to the public.
New students are admitted to the program in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
