The Design School of Duoc UC, Chile as the first one in South America received the international Substantial Equivalency certification
The award, offered by the National Association of Art and Design of USA, confirmed that the educational programs of all the degrees, are at the same level as the best Design and Art education institutions in the world.
The National Association School or Art and Design (NASAD) awarded the technical degrees of the School of Design of Duoc UC with the Substantial Equivalency certification, which certificates that the programs, resources, contents, educational qualifications and results obtained by the students during the training process, are aligned under American quality standards.
The School of Art and Design of Duoc becomes the first and only institution in Chile and South America to be recognized internationally by NASAD, evaluated under the same standards as the best design institutions in USA, like the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), both in New York, and the Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena, California, among others.
For Andrés Villela, Academic Vice President of Duoc, this is a big accomplishment for the institution. “It is amazingly important for us as an institution to move forward in identifying which are the world wide class curricular parameters that can allow us to focus our development. The NASAD’s recognition represents, without a doubt, the qualifications that put us as equals and make us keep high standards”, he explains.
