digital transformation of products and designing with digital technologies.

PROFESSOR FOR DIGITAL DESIGN & FUTURE MAKING (W2)

We are looking for an outstanding and engaging persona with extensive experience in the
digital transformation of products and designing with digital technologies. You are
internationally connected with excellent design/art achievements. You demonstrate research
experience in digital technologies and incorporate your extensive research contacts into your
teaching. You are able to teach on a master’s level and work project-oriented with students.
You will be cooperating closely with colleagues from the departments of Accessory Design,
Industrial Design, Fashion, Jewelry, Visual Communication, Critical Studies and Artistic
Foundation within the projects as well as individually mentoring students.

You command and are able to impart appropriate information in relation to aesthetic, social and cultural developments within the context of emerging technologies. Interdisciplinary processes, playful exploration as well as critical reflection are part of your repertoire. You will be teaching in German and/or English.

As you will be significantly involved in the development of the new masters program Design &
Future Making, proven experience and commitment to teaching as well as didactic aptitude
(typically a minimum of one year teaching experience), organization skills and academic self-governance are important. Applicants are expected to work on an interdisciplinary basis with other professors in oder to shape the image of the School of Design and Pforzheim University.

Prerequisites include completed university studies, a specific academic qualification (typically evidenced by a doctorate) or excellent artistic qualification (typically established through portfolio and awards), a minimum of five years professional experience (of which a minimum of three years are outside of the university sector) and pedegogical experience.
