The Student Ambassadors are to contribute their singular voices to the Association’s Conferences and the Cumulus community overall highlighting the changes that the next generation of artists and designers are shaping in an increasingly complex and interconnected global marketplace for art and design.

One of the newest initiatives of Cumulus – PhD Netowork – is meeting again during the Design Culture(s) conference on June 9, 2021.

Through PLUS+ grant scheme Cumulus mobilizes academics from different parts of the world and countries less familiar to Cumulusians to join the conferences under the Cumulus umbrella.

The European Commission has launched the first edition of the New European Bauhaus prize that will reward inspiring examples around the key elements of the New European Bauhaus initiative. NEB has the ambition to make the Green Deal a cultural, human-centred and positive, tangible experience.

The Advanced Design Unit of University of Bologna is building their first international symposium “Future Design for Knowledge Innovation”.

The Foodicons Challenge will develop a cooperatively-built visual language for over 500 core concepts to explain our food system. Final selections will be publicly released at the UN Food Systems Summit in 2021, then posted permanently on The Noun Project as a free resource for all to use.
