Cumulus is pleased to announce this call for proposals for Cumulus member institutions to plan, organize and host the next Cumulus conferences for the period of 2021 and 2022.

Cumulus seeks to strengthen the partnership of existing Cumulus members and institutions from regions not represented yet.

Two student ambassadors from the School of Design, Jiangnan University, China: Danni Deng and Zhou Siqi (Jessy) took part in two consecutive conferences of Cumulus in October 2018 in Wuxi, China and in May 2019 in Rovaniemi, Finland within the Cumulus Student Ambassador program.

Cumulus is seeking for academics and staff working in colleges and universities in art, design and media in higher education from different parts of the world and countries less familiar to Cumulusians to come and join our conference in Bogota, Colombia in October 2019!

The best thing was feeling that atmosphere was not competitive but extremely supportive and in that way all participants feel very good and welcome to join workshops or discussions that were held in very interesting and innovative ways.

I had the privilege of coming face-to-face with the network of design community worldwide and the interaction and the atmosphere was a rare that seemed like standing before long-lost relatives and friends from the other parts of the world.

The activities which I enjoyed the most were the paper sessions about “The future of design teaching” and the working groups activities. The atmosphere created was more relaxed and fresh and it allowed us to exchange ideas and to give and receive feedback in a deeper way that we can usually do during a paper dissertation.
